Due to severe floods this year caused by rains and release of excess water from India’s dam network Bangladesh has 1.5 million displaced families due to flooding this year. Many of our national partners reached out to us for help in this time of crisis.
We provided food package with cost of $7.6/packet, this gave 10 days food security to each of the families with total budget of $50,000 USD plus what was provided by my rich young ruler friend, Golam Azam. We requested 4400 families, but we were able to support 6500 families with the same amount due to purchasing all goods from wholesale markets in old Dhaka and packing ourselves with local labor and my rich young ruler, Golam Azam, donating over 300,000 Taka of his own money.
